Conservation Laws and Potential Symmetries of Linear Parabolic Equations

چکیده
We carry out an extensive investigation of conservation laws and potential symmetries for the class of linear (1+1)-dimensional second-order parabolic equations. The group classification of this class is revised by employing admissible transformations, the notion of normalized classes of differential equations and the adjoint variational principle. All possible potential conservation laws are described completely. They are in fact exhausted by local conservation laws. For any equation from the above class the characteristic space of local conservation laws is isomorphic to the solution set of the adjoint equation. Effective criteria for the existence of potential symmetries are proposed. Their proofs involve a rather intricate interplay between different representations of potential systems, the notion of a potential equation associated with a tuple of characteristics, prolongation of the equivalence group to the whole potential frame and application of multiple dual Darboux transformations. The simplest potential symmetries of the linear heat equation, which are associated with single conservation laws, are classified with respect to its point symmetry group. Equations possessing infinite series of potential symmetry algebras are studied in detail.

Symmetry group, Hamiltonian equations and conservation laws of general three-dimensional anisotropic non-linear sourceless heat transfer equation
In this paper Lie point symmetries, Hamiltonian equations and conservation laws of general three-dimensional anisotropic non-linear sourceless heat transfer equation are investigated. First of all Lie symmetries are obtained by using the general method based on invariance condition of a system of differential equations under a prolonged vector field. Then the structure of symmetry ...

In this paper, Heir-equations method is applied to investigate nonclassical symmetries and new solutions of the Black-Scholes equation. Nonlinear self-adjointness is proved and infinite number of conservation laws are computed by a new conservation laws theorem.
متن کاملEquivalence of conservation laws and equivalence of potential systems
We study conservation laws and potential symmetries of (systems of) differential equations applying equivalence relations generated by point transformations between the equations. A Fokker–Planck equation and the Burgers equation are considered as examples. Using reducibility of them to the one-dimensional linear heat equation, we construct complete hierarchies of local and potential conservati...

The use of the symbolic software package GeM for Maple is illustrated with examples of computation of nonlocal symmetries and nonlocal conservation laws of nonlinear partial differential equations. In the considered examples, the nonlocal symmetries and conservation laws arise as local symmetries and conservation laws of potential systems. FullMaple codewith detailed comments is presented. متن کاملDissipative and Entropy Solutions to Non-isotropic Degenerate Parabolic Balance Laws
Abstract. We propose a new notion of weak solutions (dissipative solutions) for nonisotropic, degenerate, second order, quasi-linear parabolic equations. This class of solutions is an extension of the notion of dissipative solutions for scalar conservation laws introduced by L. C. Evans. We analyze the relationship between the notions of dissipative and entropy weak solutions for non-isotropic,...
